How Much Does Each Session Cost?

Session 1: $310
Session 2: $310
Session 3: $310
Session 4: $290

$310 Per two-week session and $290 for Session 4 which is one week long.

You can calculate the total cost of the camp by adding the fee per session based on the number of sessions you need your child to attend.

Where is the Queens Camp Site Located?

Legacy Queens Summer Camp Site is located at PS 135Q 207-11 89th Avenue, Queens Village, NY 11427. The camp entrance is on 207th Street.

How do I calculate the cost of camp?

You can calculate the total cost of the Camp by adding the fee per session based on the number of sessions you need your child to attend listed above.

For example: Child A is attending session one and news 8am extended mornings during session one- the breakdown is:

$310- Session 1 + Morning Drop off 8AM: $40

Total: $350

Does Legacy Accept Vouchers ?

Legacy only accepts MTA- LOCAL 100 and 1199 SEIU Child Care Vouchers at this time.

When is the best time to register for camp?

In New York City, summer camps fill up fast — and spots disappear even quicker. That’s why we strongly encourage families to begin their camp search as early as January. With thousands of families looking for affordable, quality options, waiting too long can limit your choices.

Program

What is the age range of the campers?

  • General Camp: 4-11 years old.

  • PreK- Group: Four years old by June 30th, 2025.

  • (if your child is four years old at ANY point during camp your child will be placed in the PreK Group)

How long is a typical camp day?

Standard arrival is at 9 am, and the day runs until dismissal at 5:45 pm.

Do you offer a Morning Extended Day Start?

Session one to session four early morning begins on July 1st from 8-8:15 am.

This is an add-on cost of $40 add-on per session at Legacy Queens Camp.

Is Transportation Provided?
Legacy does not provide pickup or drop-off transportation services. The parent or guardian must bring/pick up the camper to the program building.

What is your Staff to Camper Ratio?
Our ratio policies follow those of the NYC Department of Health and NYS Law and are set at 1 counselor for every ten children.

What is the total number of campers in the Pre-K Group?
The PreK group has 15 children and two primary staff responsible for enrichment, supervision, and learning. This group also has an additional two staff members for support.

How Many T-Shirts Do The Campers Receive?
We suggest your child wear their camper shirt daily. Each child will receive two purple shirts for use on days camp is on a trip. Shirts must be worn on a trip day by default. If you wish to purchase additional shirts a link will be available to parents on JUNE 11th to order additional shirts.

Are Breakfast and Lunch Provided For The Campers?
Breakfast and Lunch may be provided. Please note, this camp is awaiting notification from the NYC School Foods Department. Parents will be responsible for sending lunch with their child daily. Legacy also has a snack store in which campers may purchase items.

What Are The Activities The Children Participate In?
Participants may go on at least two trips per session, water days twice a week, in-house visits from various artists and cultural organizations, and hands-on workshops. The camp will also focus on science, arts, sports and general recreational activities. Educational activities will be STEM related.

How Do Campers Travel On Trips?
Legacy campers always travel either by walking or by train and or by bus. All staff is always available and reachable during trips, and trips are in the City of New York.

Are There Fees Associated With Trips?
Yes, trip fees are usually $10-30 max and only need to be paid for select trips per session. A list of trip fees will be provided in late May.

Where Do I Pick Up My Child For Summer Camp Dismissal?
Dismissal is at the 207th Street doors.

All adults must show ID to pick up their child, and parents must list all who will be authorized on the ProCare app.

* Dismissal is from 5:15 pm to 5:45 pm every day.

Can my child walk home?
As of 2025, the Office of the Chief Executive Officer has approved the change in Membership policy for campers in 5th grade to have the ability to self dismiss from Legacy Summer Programs. Waiver and documents must be signed by the primary parent or guardian.

What if I need to pick up my child early from camp?
Since we are an active camp and may be out on activities or a trip, you MUST coordinate your specified pickup time with the camp director by contacting us using the ProCare App by 12noon the day of. Early pickup times are 2:30 pm and or 4:30 pm.

Payment

Can I Leave A Deposit To Secure A Spot For My Child?
Yes, when registering, a deposit is required to secure a spot per child. The Deposit is $250, which is applied to the sessions you book your child to attend. Deposits are usually spread in increments for each session you select on your application if greater than four sessions.

There are no refunds for deposits for any reason.

I Need to Switch a Session, or I Am Planning To Go On Vacation, So My Child May Miss A Week. Is That An Issue?

We will set up a camp schedule that will accommodate your vacation during registration. So long as your child is attending in two-week segments it can be accommodated. This accommodation should be mentioned during your registration so that we know you have plans. Session-switching is allowed until May 15th, regardless of your child's enrollment date. If your child is registered after this date, changes will not be permitted unless approved by the Office of Membership Management & Programs.

When Is The Deadline For Payment For The First Session My Child Will Attend?

  • The first payment for campers starting on or after (June 30th) must be made by June 5th, 2025.

  • Any registration accepted for Sessions 1-4 after June 16th will not be allowed to leave a deposit and will require full payment of the first session.

My Child Is Already Registered; How Do I Pay Down My Balance Before Camp Begins?
Your bill will be visible on your ProCare Account. You can always make payments directly on ProCare leading up to camp. Please note that your payment using credit or debit will have a processing fee.

What is Pay as You Go and How Do I Pay Once My Child is Actively Attending Camp?
You can pay using Procare using Credit, Debit, or Zelle on the Thursday before the start of each new session.

Will there be a Camp Orientation?

Legacy Queens Summer Camp Orientation will take place on June 14th, 2025. Attendance at the orientation is mandatory in order for your child to attend camp. Camp shirts, important documents, policies and program operations will be discussed.

Parents who have registered will be notified on ProCare with link information.

What is the ProCare App?
ProCare is an app that ALL parents are required to download to their phones. This app allows us to send updates regarding camp, trip information, and alerts, enabling parents to communicate with staff directly make payments pull tax documents after camp. ProCare improves communication with you and our program while your child is in camp.

I Already Have The Procare App. Is There Something I Should Do To Connect?

If your child attended our after-school programs and you have the Procare app already your profile will become active once notified. You would have to switch your school to “Legacy Summer Camp” to see information about summer camp. We suggest doing this periodically to review updates and finally switch fully in mid-June. If your child participated in a summer camp program and no other program, you can leave your app as is. Please sign in using your login and password.

Can I Get a Refund if I Need to Cancel? 
Legacy does not allow refunds under any case and for any reason.

Medical

Does My Child Need a Physical?
Your child must have a valid physical stamp from the doctor before starting camp. Please visit our registration page for our MEDICAL FORM or submit your own.

What Is Legacy Policy on Medications?
If your child has an asthma pump, they can use it during camp, and campers should be able to administer medications themselves. During registration, the camp director will discuss any medication concerns with you on a case-by-case basis.

Is The Staff Certified in CPR & First Aid?
Legacy follows the NYC Department of Health code by ensuring that every staff member undergoes extensive readiness training before Camp begins. Staff receives CPR and First Aid training through the American Heart Association. Furthermore, the Executive Staff and Health Director additionally hold advanced certifications in CPR for adults & infants, Responding to Emergencies, & Advanced First Aid by the American Heart Association. Our Camp is always equipped with first aid kits and AED, and staff carries a First Aid Kit Emergency Bag on trips.

Is Legacy a Peanut Free & Tree Nut Free Program?
All Legacy programs are Peanut & Nut Free. We ensure that peanut and tree nut products are not served to our members. Legacy has a strict policy on nut foods and will discard the food if the program is at risk. Additionally, parents should ensure that when packing snacks for their children, they should not contain nut products. Staff is trained to deal with children who have allergies and how to administer care for allergic reactions. Celebrations and parties during camp will be adjusted to serve foods that observe allergy concerns.

How Does The Staff Handle Food Allergies?
Staff is trained in dealing with all allergies and special food restrictions. Should your child have an allergy or restrictions, Please list their allergies on your application and provide information on the medical form. Activities, parties, and celebrations will be tailored to include your child’s allergies in consideration. If your child has an asthma pump; they can use it during camp at any time. Campers should be able to administer medications themselves. During orientation, the camp director will discuss any medication concerns with you on a case-by-case basis.

What Is Legacy Policy on Individual Education Plans ( IEP)?
We understand that every child is different and all families have the same common interest, for their child to have an enjoyable, safe summer. We require that your child's IEP be uploaded so our membership office and our summer staff understand how to serve your child best. IEPs give us a window into how your child may communicate with peers or need additional guidance and support during the summer.

My Child Needs SEITT Services or Speech Therapy, Can Legacy Accommodate A Visit From My Childs Provider?

Legacy has a very active schedule and space for services requires full disclosure at registration. If we can accommodate the arrival of support services from a separate provider we will strive to. Note: allowing additional persons on campgrounds requires authorization from the Legacy Office of Membership Management & Programs . Legacy cannot guarantee that the camp schedule will accommodate all therapy services to take place during the program day. Therefore, please communicate your child’s needs BEFORE registering.

What Is Legacy Policy on Behavior Expectations and Behavior Policy?
We have adopted the same behavior expectations that all NYC students must follow the entire school year. Legacy follows the New York City Behavioral Expectations Code. To review the policy, click here.

Is Legacy Summer Camp Licensed?
Yes, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene License licenses Legacy Harlem Summer Camp. This summer camp is a subsidiary of The Legacy Corporation and Legacy Youth Organization serving thousands of NYC students since 2002.
